Encouragement in Affliction
2 Corinthians 1:1-11
Charles Wilson Jr | Lead Pastor
When Paul wrote 2 Corinthians, he had some reason for optimism. He had just encountered Titus, who had brought him good news from Corinth. This breakthrough in the unhappy tension between the Corinthian church and Paul put the anguish he had suffered in an entirely new light. He now recognized that God had used this suffering as an opportunity to minister His gracious comfort, and to enable him to be a better comforter of others in trouble. With this wholesome frame of mind, Paul wrote the beautiful letter that we call 2 Corinthians.” (A heart wide open, Homer A. Kent JR)
